THE CHALLENGE
Fulcrum Publishing needed digital platforms to showcase conservation writers while managing a growing collection of authors, books, and publications.
The existing International League of Conservation Writers website contained a substantial amount of information, but budget limitations meant a complete redesign wasn't possible.
The challenge was to improve organization, navigation, and usability within the existing structure while also creating new, visually engaging companion websites.
MY ROLE
I managed the technical implementation, content organization and ongoing maintenance of the International League of Conservation Writers website.
My work includes:
Maintaining a comprehensive author and publication database.
Updating content as authors released new work.
Organizing a large collection of products and services
Maintaining the site as its collection continued to grow.
Collaborated with publishing staff.
Monitoring site security and stability
Provided ongoing technical support and website administration.
THE OUTCOME
Together, these projects created a family of related digital properties that organize and showcase a growing body of conservation writing.
The result is a sustainable web presence that makes extensive information easier to navigate, maintain, and discover—while creating engaging ways for audiences to connect with the writers and their work.
