THE CHALLENGE
Print & Marketing Solutions Group needed a comprehensive website to present its wide range of printing, marketing and promotional services and products.
The challenge wasn't simply to create a good-looking website. It was to build a site that would remain useful, visually cohesive, secure and technically reliable over time—despite the complexity of its Wordpress installation, numerous plugins and ongoing content updates.
MY ROLE
I designed, built and have provided ongoing technical maintenance and support for the website.
My work includes:
Designing the overall website and UX
Creating custom graphics and visual elements
Implementing a homepage slideshow
Organizing a large collection of products and services
Managing the Wordpress CMS and content updates
Keeping the site's PHP environment current as technologies evolved
Monitoring site security and stability
Troubleshooting and refining as needs change.
THE OUTCOME
The result is a large, stable Wordpress website that has remained reliable over many years while continuing to evolve with the business.
The site's visual design has proven durable and timeless. Ongoing maintenance—including updates to Wordpress, plugins and PHP—helps keep the site secure and functioning properly.
Despite the complexity of the site and its many moving parts, it has remained stable and has never been hacked during my stewardship.
This project demonstrates that effective web production is about building something that can be maintained, protected, adapted and relied upon for years.
